My Grandma’s recipe for apple crisp or apple crumble, is delicious and easy to make. I prefer this easy apple crisp recipe, however if you want to change it up a little, add some blueberries to the fruit filling, or chopped nuts to the topping.

Apple Mixture

  • 8 medium sized tart apples (granny smith)  – peeled and sliced, seeds removed
  • 2 tbsp flour
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 2 tbsp brown sugar

Toss the peeled apples with flour, cinnamon and brown sugar til evenly coated. spread in a 9X9 baking dish.

Topping for Apple Crisp

  • 1/2 cup white all purpose flour
  • 3/4 cup rolled oats
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 1/3 cup butter

Mix the dry topping ingredients together in a large bowl.  Cut in the butter and mix until a nice consistent crumbly texture.  Spread evenly over the apples. Bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes or until apples are tender.  This easy apple crumble is best serve warm with a scoop of vanilla ice cream.
